I am very fascinated by traveling and experiencing different cultures and environments. I've made several trips to different asian countries, often with Singapore as a starting point. My longest stay was in Oman, where I lived for one semester working at the German University of Technology (GUtech) in Muscat. After that, I didn't feel like going back to Germany and finish my studies, so I went abroad for another semester to Krakow in Poland as an Erasmus student. In between these longer stays there were some shorter trips, like two weeks in Kyrgyzstan, two visits in Japan, or the road trip to France.
To preserve some of the great memories I write a bit about my travels and upload a few of the many pictures I took along the way on this website. Each country has its own article containing some text (sometimes ^^) and a few pictures. Some countries are missing completely, because there are no decent pictures, or I haven't got around to sorting them.
Poland (2018)
I did an erasmus semester in Krakow at the Jagiellonian University doing theoretical physics (as an experimentalist ^^). At that time Krakow was the biggest city I ever lived in and there was a lot to see and do.
The semester started in Oktober and I left in February. The mountains around Zakopane (south poland) were awesome!

France (2018)
In the middle of my Erasmus semester in Poland, I went back to Germany for Christmas. For ten days around new Year I made a road trip through France with a friend.
There were some hikes in the southern alps, a new years firework in Monaco and a lot of cold nights in the car ^^

Myanmar (2017)
For around 25 days I traveled through Myanmar together with a friend and his sister. From Yangon we made a round trip anticlockwise, but did not go further north then Mandalay.
Apart from the great and famous tourist attractions like Bagan or Inle Lake I enjoyed a long ride in an old bus being used for delivering tobacco and tomatoes (and a hand full of people).

Oman (2017)
Oman has a very diverse environment. The country is famous for it's wadis, has huge mountain rages, desert and surprisingly green areas in between all of that.
From my almost five months living in Oman, the most prominent memories regarding the country are the nights spend on the beach and numerous trips to wadis. I still remember staring at the stars and at the glowing ocean (bioluminescencent algae) for hours before falling asleep.

During my internship in Oman I went to Iran for my christmas holidays.
Iran is a very interesting country with many places to visit. Sadly there was only time for the south.
FYI: the Kabab is superb ;)
Kyrgyzstan (2016)
Kyrgyzstans biggest neighbors are Kazakhstan in the north and China in the east-south. The country is dominated by mountainous terrain and by its biggest lake Issyk-Kul in the north-east which is enclosed by high mountain ranges.
For two weeks I traveled through the area around the Issyk-Kul together with a friend. We took a bus from the capital Bishkek and generally went around the lake clockwise.

Sri Lanka (2015)
Sri Lanka was the last stop on my south asia tour after my bachelors.
Featuring great company by two Taiwanese, (a big and a small) World's End and lots of good Egg-Rotti.

Singapore (2015)
My father was living in Singapore for around three years and I visited him a few times. It was perfect to have a "station" in south asia and I used it as a starting point for traveling.
From Singapore it's just a bus ride to go to Malaysia. And flights to countries like Vietnam, Cambodia or Indonesia are quite short.

Vietnam (2015)
Starting in Hanoi we made two trips visiting Sa Pa and Hạ Long Bay. Then took the night train to the south. The train ride passed by the ocean and several empty beautiful beaches.
For a few days we stayed in Hội An for some beach time and a decent sun burn ^^
With a second night train we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City from where our flight back to Singapore left after some days.

Cambodia (2015)
Cambodia is a south asian country neighboring Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. It is best known for the ancient city Ankor which probably was the biggest city in the world in around 1200 [Wikipedia].
When visiting Cambodia I concentrated on visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ankor. The site is close to the city Siem Reap in the north of Cambodia. From the capital Phnom Penh it is an interesting bus ride to Siem Reap along a river and the lake Tonle Sap.
